E mail Problems and Help

E-mail has became one of the most important medium in the past ten years. So, quite understandable thing that when it does not work properly and when you get errors it is really a frustrate to you. In this case how to do something to resolution. If you plan to troubleshoot E-mails problems, it is a good idea to keep backup of all E-mail records and it's information.

In case of outlook backup you should take .PST (personal folder) backup. And in case of Outlook Express you should take .dbx fils backup. Both situation you should take address book back up as well. As far as E-mail settings you should not down your Incoming Mail Server or POP3 - each Internet service is different, so you will want to contact them for this information. And Outgoing Mail Server or SMTP and it's port numbers. Second thing User name and Password - in some cases your user name will be the same as your Email address.

Some common E-mails Problems and it's best solution are:

If you are not able to send E-mails any more, there are several possibility to fix it. First thing you should want to do verify your SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) server in your e-mails settings. if it's not correct put the right serer settings in your e-mail client. Another thing that happens with SMTP servers is sometimes it will reject your request if you haven't checked your incoming email in a certain amount of time. If you're still facing this problems, delete the email, reboot your machine, and try to resend it again.

some time you are receiving emails, but nothing is coming your Inbox. What should you do? This happens more often with the dial-up Internet connection and most likely due to an email that's is too large in size. Either you can call your ISP to delete that email or log into your web mail server to delete it by yourself. Remember this happens also that it may cause your connection with the POP3 server settings, you
should check about it.

When you not able to download attachments with your mail client, you should check about the security settings in your E-mails client. The most widely used client Outlook has an option that you can either check or unchecked to allow you to download an attachments. Before downloading any attachment you should have a reliable anti virus software. And always only download those e-mails attachment from people you know, any other mail probably a virus or spywares. If you are facing problem when downloading email through Outlook it appears to get stuck on the same massage every time. It used by generally large size of emails. And some time outlook times out, thinking that it can no longer talk to the server. In this situation you need to exceeds you server timeout period.

There is way to fix this:

1. In Outlook Express News select Accounts from the Tools menu

2. Select the appropriate account

3. Press Properties and select the Advanced tab

4. Adjust the Slider to set your Server timeout.
